This policy explains what Ultimate Migration Tool ("the tool") accesses, stores, and does with your data when you use it to analyse a migration.
What the tool accesses
When you sign in with Google, the tool requests one scope: webmasters.readonly - read-only access to Google Search Console. It cannot modify, delete, or change settings on any property, and never requests access to Gmail, Drive, Calendar, or anything else outside Google Search Console.
Your Google credentials never reach your browser
The exchange happens entirely on the server. Your browser receives an session cookie and nothing else. We never access your Google client credentials including your password.
What's stored, and for how long
- Session cookie: identifies your signed-in session only. Expires after 8 hours of inactivity, or immediately when you sign out.
- Access/refresh tokens: held server-side, tied to your session. Deleted on sign-out (and revoked with Google) or when the session expires.
- Collected analysis data: kept in server memory for up to 24 hours so your report pages can load them, then automatically discarded.
- In your browser: a small pointer, and any imported Screaming Frog crawl data is held in local storage until "Start a new analysis" or you clear your browser's site data.
What the Ultimate Migration Tool does not do
- We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties, as we don't collect any! There's no usernames, no passwords, no credit cards.
- We do not store any user data at all, nor any data about your client's websites, traffic or migration success. It's all anonymous.
- We do not use your data for advertising or profiling.
- We do not use tracking cookies, apart from Google Analytics and the one functional session cookie mentioned above.
- We do not train any AI models on your data.
Your controls
- Sign out ends your session and revokes the tool's access.
- "Start a new analysis" clears locally stored data from your browser.
- Revoke access anytime from your Google Account permissions page.
